Five PMHS seniors were recently named National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Leila Brady, Katie Brandler, Victor Chang, Julia Meyerson and Adina Sasson are among the 16,000 students across the country to earn this by scoring among the highest in their respective states on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last year.
“It’s an incredible honor to have five students selected as National Merit Semifinalists,” said Mark Berkowitz, PMHS Principal. “I want to congratulate Leila, Katie, Victor, Julia and Adina, as well as all of their teachers for their hard work and commitment to academic excellence. In addition to excelling in the classroom, these students represent the best of what it means to be a student at Pelham Memorial High School and I look forward to supporting their continued success this year and into the future.”
Semifinalists now have the opportunity to be named a National Merit Finalist and earn a chance to receive one of 7,250 National Merit Scholarships totalling nearly $28 million in the spring.
