National History Day

Anderson, Tarazi and Liaskos, whose project is titled “Television’s Role in the Civil Rights Movement: Shedding Light on Unseen Problems and Causing Social Change,” now advance to the National History Day Competition where they will compete against their peers from across the U.S.

Each year, PMHS students compete in National History Day, conducting research and formulating projects in a variety of mediums, including individual or group documentaries, historical papers, exhibits, websites, and more. The annual competition focuses on a central theme, which this year was: “Communication in History: The key to understanding.” Students first submit their projects to a regional competition with winners advancing to the state competition.
